Located in Lynnwood Galleries, Pretoria, LM in the East is a vibrant restaurant designed by Boogertman and Partners that celebrates a rich blend of Mozambican and Portuguese influences, infused with a South African twist. To bring this lively vision to life, the design team carefully selected Vuti Stools as focal elements in the restaurant’s seating arrangement, ensuring that the furniture not only enhanced the aesthetic but also elevated the customer experience. The Vuti Stools capture the relaxed, tropical charm of Maputo with their stylish, minimalist bentwood backs and sturdy craftsmanship, helping create a memorable dining atmosphere that reflects LM in the East’s vibrant character.
The choice of Vuti Stools for the bar area was inspired by Woodbender’s reputation for durability and style. Boogertman and Partners were particularly impressed by the resilience of Woodbender chairs in the original LM space, which remained structurally sound despite years of use. This inspired them to add the Vuti Stools to the new design, custom-finished with a rich brown timber and upholstered in cognac leather to harmonise with the restaurant’s earthy terracotta accents and ambient lighting. The stools’ elegant yet understated presence enhances the inviting, warm atmosphere of LM in the East, providing guests with comfortable, stylish seating that perfectly complements the restaurant’s eclectic interior.
Patrons and staff alike have given positive feedback on the Vuti Stools, noting their light weight, ease of movement, and comfort, which makes them ideal for a lively social space. Beyond aesthetics, the stools offer practical benefits—they are easy to clean and maintain in the high-traffic bar area.
