Role Overview: The E-commerce Web Specialist is responsible for managing, optimising, and growing the company’s web platforms, including both Shopify ecommerce stores and the contract website with its “Add to Quote” functionality.
Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role ensures that all websites deliver outstanding performance, user experience, and business results.
The specialist will work closely with the internal marketing team, and external partners to align web activities with wider campaigns, improve SEO, enhance analytics, and support the launch of new websites as the business expands.
This is a key role in building a scalable and effective web ecosystem that serves both B2C and B2B customers.
Key Responsibilities:

Website Management & Optimisation
- Manage and optimise multiple web platforms, including Shopify e-commerce sites and the contract resource site
- Oversee daily site operations, updates, app integrations, and troubleshooting
- Ensure optimal site speed, mobile performance, and navigation across all platforms
- Maintain non-e-commerce functionality, including the Add to Quote basket and client resource areas

SEO Strategy & Execution
- Lead technical and on-page SEO efforts to improve organic rankings and site visibility
- Conduct regular site audits to identify and address SEO issues
- Collaborate with content creators to ensure SEO best practices are applied across web content
- Monitor SEO performance and report on key metrics

Analytics & Performance Reporting
- Set up, maintain, and optimise web analytics tools
- Track website performance, traffic sources, user behaviour, and conversions
- Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis
- Develop and share regular reports with the Head of Marketing and wider team

E-commerce Optimisation & CRO
- Drive continuous improvement of the e-commerce customer journey
- Plan and execute A/B tests and other experiments to improve conversion rates
- Collaborate with design team to enhance UX/UI across platforms
- Stay up to date on e-commerce trends, tools, and best practices

New Website Development & Launches
- Support the planning, coordination, and launch of new websites and Landing Pages
- Work with internal and external teams to deliver sites on time and to specification
- Ensure all new sites are aligned with brand guidelines, technical standards, and commercial objectives
- Oversee domain setup, redirects, and multi-site structuring

Cross-Channel Collaboration
- Collaborate closely with marketing, social media, direct mail, and PPC teams to ensure campaigns are aligned with web activities
- Liaise with paid media teams or external agencies to support PPC, Google Ads, and paid campaign effectiveness
- Act as a central point of contact for web-related needs across departments

Technical Coordination & Troubleshooting
- Apply basic coding knowledge (HTML, CSS, Shopify Liquid) to troubleshoot issues
- Monitor site security, updates, and compliance with privacy requirements (e.g., cookie banners, GDPR)

Technical Skills
- Expertise in managing Shopify stores, including themes, apps, and liquid edits
- Solid understanding of SEO best practices (technical, on-page, and off-page)
- Good knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic Shopify Liquid coding
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and conversion rate optimisation (CRO)
- Familiarity with PPC and Google Ads management (hands-on or through agency coordination)
